Four Easy Tips on Real Estate Blogging

Lots of real estate agents think that blogging takes far too much time. Let’s make a few things clear:

  1. Blog posts do not have to be lengthy. In fact, a series of shorter posts (300 – 500 words) are better than 1 long post. Short attention spans = preference for short, concise posts.
  2. You can say a lot with a few words. If you don’t believe me, you probably aren’t using Twitter. When you are forced to contain your thought within 140 characters, you learn to say only what needs saying.  Your blog readers appreciate this as well.
  3. The information your potential clients want is at your fingertips. Share it! Tell your readers what is happening in their real estate in your city. Is the housing market improving? Are homes under $150K selling faster? Are foreclosures increasing in 1 zip code over the rest? Did you just get wind of an exciting new development? You have this information and people are searching for it. When they search online – make sure it’s your site that shows up, and keeps them coming back!
  4. Schedule your posts. This does two things: 1. ensures you post regularly and 2. shows potential clients you are consistent and reliable.  Do these traits matter to your clients when they select a real estate agent? You bet they do!

These are just a few tips for making your real estate blog effective and easy to manage. If you have tips of your own, please share them.  By the way, this post took less than 10 minutes to write.  Don’t think too hard – just tell people what you know!
